Guadalupe Shrine: A Hill for Contemplation

During Holy Week, many devotees would flock to Guadalupe Shrine in Buraguis, Legazpi City. It is a popular place to visit for Visita Iglesia because of its life-size statues of the "Stations of the Cross" chronologically positioned on a pathway uphill.

Devotees can pray the "Stations of the Cross" starting at the foot of the hill, then ascending, stopping at each station, and ending at the oratory.

Atop the hill, you can also find the imposing statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the oratory.

Aside from its religious significance, the place is popular in part because it offers visitors a panoramic view of Legazpi City.

This Holy Week, while we might not be able to do our usual Visita Iglesia to this place, let us just pray to God for our deliverance from COVID-19 through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, our maternal protector.
